Вариант метода электрофореза в агарозном геле; характеризуется чередующимися элетрическими пульсами полей, расположенных под тупым углом друг к другу, продолжительность импульсов от 1 до 90 с; Г.-э.п.п. используется для высокоразрешающего разделения макромолекул, в частности, фрагментов ДНК (или целых хромосом - например, дрожжей) размером от 100 до 2000 и более тысяч пар нуклеотидов; метод предложен Д. Шварцем и Ч. Кантором в 1984.
